W. Brocking.

W. Brocking, Aldoph Platz-Hamburg was established in 1885. Brocking invented a double astronomical clock in 1862 and was admitted to the B.H.I. in 1865. This lovely Brocking model number 1468 dates around 1908 and is towards the end of the Brocking manufacture. It features "gold hands" and  a fantastic intact ivory plaque to the front of the lid with Brocking name and Serial No. The movement is in good order. The box has had it's top lid removed.

F. Smith & Son.

Original marine chronometer by F. Smith & Son, 23 Oxford Street, Southampton. Number 12727 dates to 1925 and is in good working order. The movement and case have matching numbers as does the ivory plaque (damaged) fitted to box. The top lid has been removed.

Norris Liverpool.

A beautiful petite 2 day fully gimballed marine chronometer by Norris - Liverpool. Roman numeral face with gold hands and faithfully restored original timber box. Number 281, serviced in 1995 and rarely viewed since. This is our best working example of this type of chronometer dating around the 1870s.

Thomas Mercer.

A well kept Thomas Mercer 2 day in good working order. Face reads Thomas Mercer ltd. St Albans England 26085. Dates to the 1960s and gimballed in original box. Matching numbers.

Thomas Mercer Ltd. (1854 - 1984) began as a watchmaker in Liverpool, the centre of the horological industry. Expansion of the business to St Albans followed and the company soon started to dominate chronometer manufacture, producing them for many other makers worldwide.

Soviet Marine Chronometer.

A nicely kept Soviet marine chronometer. Fully gamballed, timber box with original winder and fittings. Mechanically mint and numbered 15889. The top lid has been removed.

Wempe.

A 2 day gimballed marine chronometer by Wempr-Hamburg. Matching movement, case and box numbers. Includes outer carrying box. Retailed out of Tokyo by The Swiss Watch Import Company with plaque stating address details. Marked number 7663. Good working order. Well kept condition.
